Guide
Add Pointscape to Gemini as a custom app, or to the Gemini CLI, and ask it to check a slab, count the columns or find the gaps in a scan. It proposes, you confirm on iPad, and the findings land in the PDF report.
Gemini connects to Pointscape over MCP. Add AI to your Pointscape plan, then add https://api.pointscape.ai/mcp to Gemini: in Gemini on the web under Settings, Connected apps, as a custom app; in Gemini Business and Enterprise through your admin; or in the Gemini CLI with one command. Sign in with your Pointscape account and allow access. Gemini then reads the scans you share and proposes measurements, issues, notes and classification changes. Your Google account or plan pays for the conversation.
AI is optional. Pro and Cloud work in full without it; add AI only if you want an assistant on your scans. The current price of the AI step is shown in the App Store.

Setup
Open Pointscape on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, Subscription, and turn on Add AI on Pro or Cloud. It is optional and can be turned off again at renewal. You need to be signed in to a Pointscape account; the connection is tied to it.
Gemini on the web: open Settings, Connected apps, and under custom apps add one with the URL https://api.pointscape.ai/mcp. Gemini Business and Enterprise: an admin adds Pointscape as a custom MCP connector; the server uses streamable HTTP and OAuth with PKCE, which is what Google asks for. Gemini CLI: gemini mcp add --transport http pointscape https://api.pointscape.ai/mcp, then inside gemini run /mcp auth pointscape. Menus move; if yours looks different, search the settings for "MCP" or "connected apps".
A Pointscape sign-in page opens. Sign in with your Pointscape account and tap Allow to let the AI read your projects, propose findings and move the view on your device. Disconnect it at any time under Settings, Subscription, AI.
Open a scan in Pointscape, open the AI panel in the viewer and turn on Let AI read this scan. A scan on your device is readable while the app is in the foreground; cloud scans are reachable anytime.
Ask in plain words. iPad tip: put the Gemini app next to Pointscape in Split View and watch it move the camera, crop the view and pin issues as it works.
Copy one, or say it your own way. What else AI can do with a scan.
The AI sees only scans you shared and projects on your account, and only through the tools you allowed at sign-in. Rendered views, numeric summaries and small samples of points go through Pointscape's API to Google under its terms; raw files do not. Turn off sharing for a scan, or disconnect under Settings, Subscription, AI, and access ends immediately. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Which Gemini surfaces support custom MCP apps? Custom MCP connections are configured by an admin on Gemini Business and Enterprise, by the user in the Gemini CLI, and in Gemini on the web under Connected apps where the custom-app option is available to the account. The Pointscape server is the same in every case.
Does Pointscape need a client ID and secret for Gemini Enterprise? Pointscape supports OAuth dynamic client registration at https://api.pointscape.ai/v1/oauth/register and publishes its metadata at /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. If your admin console asks for a fixed client ID and secret, contact support@pointscape.ai and we will issue one.
Can it change my project without asking? No. Everything it writes is a proposal that waits for you in Pointscape. Only confirmed proposals appear in the project and its PDF report.
Do I need AI to use Pointscape? No. AI is an optional step on the Pro and Cloud plans. Viewing, measuring, flatness checks and PDF reports work without it; add AI only if you want an assistant on your scans.
Pointscape speaks MCP, so any client works with the same URL.
