Guide
Pointscape is a remote MCP server: streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 with PKCE, dynamic client registration. Point the Anthropic or OpenAI API at it, or any MCP SDK, and your agent can read scans, measure, segment, check surfaces and propose findings a person confirms in the app.
Pointscape exposes its tools as a remote MCP server at https://api.pointscape.ai/mcp. Add AI to the Pointscape plan of the account the agent will act for, register a client (automatically, through dynamic client registration), run the OAuth flow once for that user, and pass the token to your MCP client or to the Anthropic or OpenAI API's MCP connector. The agent then has the same tools Claude and ChatGPT get: browse projects, read points, render views, measure regions, segment, check surfaces, and propose measurements, issues, notes, labels and class changes that the user confirms in Pointscape.
AI is optional. Pro and Cloud work in full without it; add AI only if you want an assistant on your scans. The current price of the AI step is shown in the App Store.

Setup
The Pointscape account your agent acts for needs AI on its Pro or Cloud plan (Settings, Subscription, Add AI in the app). Tools answer with a clear error otherwise.
Metadata is published at https://api.pointscape.ai/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server and /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource. Register your client at https://api.pointscape.ai/v1/oauth/register (RFC 7591); MCP SDKs and the Anthropic and OpenAI connectors do this for you.
Authorization code with PKCE (S256). The user signs in to Pointscape in a browser and taps Allow; your client receives an access token and a refresh token from /v1/oauth/token. Tokens can be revoked at /v1/oauth/revoke and by the user in the app under Settings, Subscription, AI.
Anthropic API: pass the URL in mcp_servers with the user's token as authorization_token. OpenAI API: add a tool of type mcp with server_url and the token in authorization. Any MCP SDK: streamable-HTTP transport with a bearer token. Call tools/list to see the current tools and their schemas; MCP prompts package the common jobs.
Cloud scans are reachable anytime. A scan on the user's iPad or iPhone is readable only while Pointscape is in the foreground and Let AI read this scan is on for it; the tool descriptions say which is which.
Copy one, or say it your own way. What else AI can do with a scan.
The agent sees only scans the user shared and projects on their account, through the tools they allowed at sign-in. Pointscape keeps per-call usage records for 90 days, and the user's Usage screen in Settings shows every session and tool call. The user can turn off sharing for a scan, or disconnect the client under Settings, Subscription, AI, and access ends immediately. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Is there an API key? No. Access is per user through OAuth, so the agent acts for a person who signed in and tapped Allow, and that person can revoke it in the app. Dynamic client registration means there is nothing to set up on Pointscape's side.
Are there rate limits? Yes, per connection, with clear tool errors when hit; device reads and cloud file links have daily caps per user. Typical agent sessions are nowhere near them. Contact support@pointscape.ai if you need more.
Can the agent write to the project directly? No. Every write is a proposal (measurement, issue, note, label or class change) that waits in Pointscape until the user confirms or discards it. That is what keeps the report the user's own.
Do I need AI to use Pointscape? No. AI is an optional step on the Pro and Cloud plans. Viewing, measuring, flatness checks and PDF reports work without it; add AI only if you want an assistant on your scans.
Pointscape speaks MCP, so any client works with the same URL.
